Gillian Haney, MPH

Gillian has over 20 years of public health experience in the area of infectious diseases. She is currently the Director of Surveillance and Informatics at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE). Most recently, as Director of the Division of Surveillance, Analytics and Informatics, she oversaw the Massachusetts' infectious disease surveillance infrastructure, including the state's integrated surveillance and case management system (MAVEN), electronic laboratory and case reporting efforts, syndromic surveillance, and other data modernization activities. She extensive experience in surveillance policy and program planning, budget and resource allocation, management, epidemiologic investigation, data analysis and utilization, grant writing, and partnership development and collaboration. Gillian has co-chaired or served on multiple national advisory committees, workgroups and taskforces, including CSTE’s Surveillance Practice and Implementation Subcommittee, and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journals.
