Founder, Principal Consultant
Bear Health Tech Consulting

Scott Robertson founded Bear Health Tech Consulting to apply his expertise in pharmacy, health information technology standards, and healthcare policy to improve patient and population outcomes through the effective sharing of information.

Scott has over 40 years of experience in pharmacy, teaching, information technology, systems integration, standards development and policy and regulatory analysis.  Most of this experience was in a large integrated healthcare system where the availability of health information was an essential element of coordinated care leading to positive patient outcomes and satisfaction.  His experience often involved resolving the differing perspectives of clinical and administrative use of information, the science of information, and the technologies used to manage information.  Scott’s analysis of healthcare and HIT regulation and policy focused on the technical/practical impacts and collecting/collating subject matter expert comments into broader organization response to those regulations and policies.

Scott is a co-chair of the HL7 Pharmacy work group.  Previously, Scott served on the NCPDP Board of Trustees, co-chair of the NCPDP Professional Pharmacy Services work group, and co-chair of GTMRx HIT work group.  Scott has participated in standards development in HL7, NCPDP, ISO, OASIS, IEEE, and AAMI.

Scott received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy.
