Dr. Zahid Butt is a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare delivery and health information technology (HIT). Throughout his career, he has held a variety of leadership positions in diverse healthcare settings and provides key insights into leveraging Health IT to improve the quality of patient care.

He has served on several government Technical Expert Panels and private sector Health IT task forces (including CMS and NQF), charged with the development, implementation and maintenance of Electronic Clinical Quality Measures for national quality reporting programs.

He is a member of The Joint Commission's Pioneers in Quality Advisory Panel convened to assist health systems in implementing eCQMs and was appointed to the US Policy Advisory Committee of International Consortium for Healthcare Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM).

He currently chairs the HIMSS Quality and Safety Taskforce, having served previously as Vice-chair of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee and chair of the Performance Measurement Taskforce for four years.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and was the Senior Attending Gastroenterologist and the Director of Clinical Informatics at St. Agnes Healthcare, a member of Ascension Health, prior to his current role at Medisolv.
