Blockchain in Healthcare

February 13, 2018 12:30 - 5 pm ET

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and the office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) are proud to present the 4th installment of the Interoperability in Action Webinar series, which will focus on the use of blockchain technology and its current and future implications in the healthcare field. The event will kick-off with keynote speaker Justin Herman of General Services Administration (GSA), as well as a Blockchain update presented by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).  The webinar will also feature presentations from the four 1st round winners of ONC’s Health Data Provenance Challenge in which participants proposed solutions to real-world obstacles for provenance in clinical care. Of the four 1st round winners, three proposed solutions involved the use of blockchain technology. Finally, we will conclude the event with an HHS Roundtable and Q & A session.
