Patient Access to Test Results from Clinical Laboratories

Notably, in 2024, 29% of individuals reported access to their medical information through an online medical record or patient portal with a clinical laboratory. However, it should be noted that patients may be able to access their test results performed by a clinical laboratory via their primary care provider’s portal or online medical record. Approximately 3 in 10 individuals (32%) reported that clinical laboratories had provided them direct access to test results, either in paper or electronic format, during the past 12 months in 2012.
