Rationale for Separate Consideration Important to cancer patients, tumor board notes indicate the decision processes used to determine care and treatment.
Use Case Description(s)
Use Case Description Tumor boards are meetings comprised of physicians and experts from diverse applicable backgrounds typically convened for complex, difficult to treat, rare cancer cases.
Tumor board notes inform all decision making for cancer care plans. This impacts care in the hospital, ambulatory, social services, hospice and end of life care. Currently not generally available to patients, but necessary to care management and self care. Patients need access to these notes for continuity of care, patient safety, and for patient shared decision making.
